2020 Litespeed Pinhoti
If you are considering a titanium hardtail for your next mountain bike, it is clear you already have an appreciation for the finer things in life. The Litespeed Pinhoti represents that perfect companion for your favorite flow trails. Lightweight, durable, and responsive, it will help you reach a new level of nirvana in the woods.
For the Pinhoti, Litespeed turns to their cold-worked 3AL/2.5V titanium, which is durable, and reasonably easy to work so that they can perfect each weld. The whole idea of this bike is to offer that perfect ride quality that we all love in titanium while still being able to feel the bike is responding to our every thought as we engage with tricky trails. The oversized tubing combines with the 73mm BB shell with PF30 BB for a seriously tight, supportive feel, while the PF30 BB also allows for maximum build flexibility. Pushing the Pinhoti into Boost territory also enhances not only this feel of lateral rigidity, but with the chunky wheels and tons of grip, will give you loads of confidence when the trail turns unpredictably rough.
With the Boost, you’ll get that super wide 12x148mm through axle spacing that will allow for a 3.0 inch tire clearance on a 27.5 inch wheel and 2.35 tires if you are rolling with 29ers. It’ll be the perfect foil for slippery, rooty descents and loamy climbs alike. The wider axles work with the wider hub flanges to increase the stiffness and responsiveness of the setup, encouraging precise handling through the perfect torsional rigidity. The compact rear-center and shorter wheelbase also do their part in creating an agile platform for quick and responsive handling.
Combining these big power solutions on a ti hardtail means that tons of power well be directed to the grippy tires and not lost in shock absorption. Elevated seatstays that hit the seat tube at a slightly higher point than the top tube cultivate more support and stability for a balanced center. The geometry has been optimized to work with 100mm and 120mm travel forks, which along with the longish top tube will favor aggressive XC riding.
You can go with internal or external cable routing, and the Litespeed Pinhoti can be set up as either a 1x or 2x machine. Available in four sizes and accommodating 27.5, 27.5+ and 29 inch wheels, the Pinhoti can be that do everything, go everywhere hardtail with an extra touch of titanium class that you always wanted.
